Habe ausserdem kurz darauf ungewöhnlich viele Sternschnuppen beobachtet."
...including many fireballs
Perseid 2010: A Disappointment
+ Grundentschädigung für Sie wegen der traurigen Nacht der Perseiden in Old Germany, der ´Alien Nation´: Eine wunderbare Langzeitaufnahme mit mehreren Schnuppen an der Sternwarte gelang dagegen am Steward Observatory on Mount Lemmon durch Astromom David A Harvey! Aufrichtige Gratualtion für jenes Bild was Sie in voller Pracht hier sehen können - http://www.spaceweather.com/meteors... !
China-Lens Flare-UFO wie das vom Hamburger Michel
Heute kam beim ´China-Observer´ ( http://www.china-observer.de/?x=ent...
Lauwarme Abduschung für das China-UFO-Sommermärchen
Expert in China blames media and lack of ´rational reasoning´ for mass UFO sighting - auf den Punkt gebracht!
Und dann die ´People´s Daily´ ( http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/9... ):
>Expert: Most UFO incidents have reasonable explanations There have been many recent reports of UFO sightings in many different regions and the latest incident involved netizens from Shanghai, Zhejiang, Nanjing and Ganzhou of Jiangxi Province, who claimed they saw UFOs all at different times on Aug. 7. Along with the continual media coverage, public attention also heated up, and some people even connected it with the recent abnormal weather and natural pits in many regions, and claimed the world would end in 2012. All of a sudden, different rumors are everywhere {!}. A reporter from People´s Daily interviewed Zhu Jin, the curator of the Beijing Planetarium and vice chairman of the Beijing UFO Research Organization. He gave professional explanations about these incidents. UFOs and flying saucers are different {!!!}. Unidentified Flying Objects refer to objects flying in the sky with unidentified names and is abbreviated UFO. The flying saucer refers to a saucer shaped flying object and in particular, a strange spaceship that many people claimed to have seen and may come from outer space. UFOs differ from flying saucers. A flying saucer is one possible UFOs, and there are no cases where one has been confirmed. However, UFOs do exist, and they just have not been identified yet. As for the latest reported UFOs, they are very easy to identify. Most of them are kites, planes or rockets. There is almost no probability that these incidents are connected with aliens. There are many reasons for the appearance of UFOs. The research of past relevant phenomena reveals that there are mainly three categories. First, they are flying objects including planes, airships, kites, searchlights, little insects very close to the photographer, bolides, man-made objects falling into the atmosphere, spacecraft, and missiles. Second, they are stationary objects in the sky but are photographed as moving objects, including planets, shiny fixed stars, the moon behind clouds and even the sun. The last possibility is that they are not in the sky at all and they may be the reflection of the sun being photographed on the frame of the camera, the reflection of the flashlight on glass, and the ghost images caused by the light source at the centrosymmetric location of the visual field. The appearance of UFOs is not concentrated in a certain region or a certain period of time. Currently, relevant events are obviously increasing, mainly because that the concentrative reporting of the media caused similar psychological effects. People who were not concerned about UFOs before began to frequently look up into the sky after reading the reports. Incidents that would normally be considered as normal were connected with UFOs indicative of relevant reports. The concentrative reporting from the media amplified the events and certain media groups were even suspected of hyping up the news. The public should treat these kinds of events with a scientific attitude, independent judgment and rational analysis. It is better to objectively record various phenomena through taking photos and videos. Some events will be easy to explain if there is sufficient image data.
"More UFO sightings in West Lothian West Lothian could soon have its own collection of X-files as yet more sightings of unidentified flying objects have flooded into the Courier office. Last week´s story about a spate of UFO spottings in the night skies has sparked an intense debate amongst our readers. Several got in touch to report more strange sightings while others contacted the Courier to offer more rational explanations for what has been seen. One couple from Deans even supplied photographic evidence of a UFO spotted while on a caravan holiday in England. The pair, who wish to remain anonymous, claim to have seen the same thing above their home in Deans two months ago. They said: "We had been outside when all of a sudden we spotted this glowing light in the sky. We had seen a similar thing above our house in Deans a couple of months ago but this time we managed to film it. It was definitely not a Chinese lantern; it was too big and it was moving too fast. We were totally gobsmacked by it and you can see in the video that my hand was shaking. I would love to know what it was. There has got to be an explanation for it but so far no one has come up with anything." One reader e-mailed the Courier about an unusual sight seen in the sky above Livingston on August 8. "I was in the KFC car park and started to see orange lights appear in the sky," they said. "There were three at first and they started rising then moving towards us, then more kept appearing and doing the same. They just seemed to disappear once they had travelled a certain distance, they were moving slowly when they were rising and hovering but then started to move at quite a pace before disappearing." The King family also got in touch about a strange sighting they saw in the sky above Broxburn on July 30. They said: "I was letting our dog out before going to bed, when I witnessed two balls of light travelling together towards our house. They were travelling very fast, heading north across the flight path of Edinburgh airport. One then broke off and headed towards Edinburgh. The other continued on its course over our house. I called my family out and on seeing them my 11-year-old daughter started crying, saying she was scared. I have lived next to the flight path of Edinburgh airport all my life and have never seen anything like this in my lifetime. Their speed was incredible. They were incredibly bright, which caught my eye straight away even though the sky was clear and full of stars. There were no flashing lights, just a solid ball of white light. I have got to admit it shook me up a little and find when I go out now I automatically look to the sky. We couldn´t believe it when we opened our Courier to see other people have seen strange things in our skies." However, other readers however are a bit more cynical when it comes to the sightings. Tam Kelly got in touch with his explanation of what the sightings could be. He said: "Unless I am an idiot, these are Chinese lanterns. I do not know where they are being released from but I have seen them many times. They come from the same direction, and burn out in the same sort of area every time - they are not ´turning black´, they´re disappearing. The fact that these are usually seen at the weekends, when most people have parties and weddings seems lost on the crackpots who imagine them to be flying in formations." The explanation of Chinese lanterns - a paper balloon with a wire frame that floats in the sky while a candle burns inside it - was also offered by James Howarth. He said: "My cousin stays at the back of Dechmont Hill. A couple of weeks ago it was his 40th birthday and he let a whole host of Chinese lanterns off there to celebrate his birthday. This could probably explain what a lot of people saw."<

Und Zypern wird zum Urlaubsziel für UFO-Touristen....
>Cyprus is the Hot New Destination for UFO Spotters A surge in UFO sightings over Cyprus in the past two years have UFO spotters packing up their tinfoil hats and booking flights to the Mediterranean isle. A UFO sighted over Cyprus last week is just one in a recent spate of unidentified flying objects to have appeared over the island in the past two years. The UFO was seen to move from Turkish-controlled Famagusta to Protaras, surprising families on their holidays in Ayia Napa ( http://www.latedeals.co.uk/Ayia-Nap... ), Dherinya and Oroklini. With several dozen sightings in the past two years alone, they´re fast becoming a staple of Cypriote holidays. "It was beautiful and mesmerising," holidaymaker Shirley Daniels told the Cyprus Mail. "It was fairly high in the sky and moved with no sound, it also had a beautiful white aura. My niece and I watched it for about 20 minutes, it really was the most awesome sight I have ever seen." In the past year, residents and holidaymakers alike have reported clusters of mysterious craft, bright white lights, slow-moving orange orbs, and strange, triangular shaped objects over the skies of Cyprus. "Believe it or not, we´ve actually had a few enquiries about the UFOs over the months. Holidaymakers want to know the best time of year to spot one," says Calum MacDonald of holiday consultants Latedeals.co.uk. "It turns out there´s now more than just Area 51 and Roswell, New Mexico for UFO buffs to visit, and at least with Cyprus holidays you have a chance of spotting one while you relax on the beach." Though UFOs have been reported in Cyprus since the 1950s, a steady increase in sightings began in 1973 when a group of six British soldiers allege to have witnessed a UFO crash into the Troodos mountain range, which contains a number of military communication stations. Even famed entertainer and spoon-bender Uri Geller claims to have witnessed two UFOs during his time living on the island as a teenager. So whether you´re planning on going UFO spotting this summer or simply looking for that perfect combination of sun, sand and relaxation, Latedeals.co.uk can find the best last minute deal for you from their wide range of cheap holidays in Cyprus.<
