Ein klarer People´s Choice Award.
Ganz einfach: JACK IS BACK!

Im Casting-Gedränge stehen heute an: Die ´Melton Times´ ( http://www.meltontimes.co.uk/news/C... )
>Christmas UFO spotted in Melton A Christmas visitor scared starry-eyed drinkers at the Cherry Tree on Boxing Day. Regulars at the Edendale Road pub spotted a noiseless unidentified flying object while enjoying a festive pint. Tony Baker and Steve Huckleby were outside at about 9.30pm when a low flying orange object passed overhead*. Tony said: "I know for certain it wasn´t a plane or a helicopter. I´ve been an aeroplane enthusiast since I was a kid. It was like an egg shape and orange and glided over us at about 400ft. What was really odd was the silence. There was no engine noise and no sound of wind as it passed. I just felt in awe, it was the strangest thing in my entire life. I know I´m going to be ridiculed for this but I promise it´s not a hoax. I can´t stop thinking about it and I want to know if anyone else saw it. They must have done, it was so big." The terrified duo now want to know if anyone else spotted the UFO. Tony said the floating object was travelling towards East Midlands Airport. It was travelling in the direction of East Midlands Airport, but he is adamant it was not a plane. + Did you see the UFO? Did you take any pictures? Email or phone the Melton Times.<

Nächster Bewerber, nächste Nummer, die ´Powys Country Times´ ( http://www.countytimes.co.uk/news/8... ) mit:
>UFO shock for former Radnorshire RAF man A Radnorshire man has spoken of his shock at seeing a series of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in the night sky. Ken Saunders, 75, from St Harmon, described three pairs of large orange orbs travelling at high speed 300 feet above his house. "It was eerie, that´s the only way of describing it," he said; "People obviously think you´re mad when you say things like this but I know what I saw and I´m not likely to be telling fibs at my age!" It was New Year´s Eve when the sighting occurred. Mr Saunders recalls how he and his wife had gone to bed early, only for his wife to be woken up close to midnight by the sound of the couple´s three cats wailing loudly. He went to investigate, and noticed the strange lights in the sky. She called to her husband, who didn´t come at first. However, as her calls became more urgent, Mr Saunders thought he should go an investigate. What he saw in the sky that night shocked him: "There were two orange ´balls´ in the sky, one immediately after the other. They were around 25 yards apart from each other, approximately 300 foot above us. It was a clear, starry night so they were there plain as day. We had a great view of them. The lights passed silently above us, and we were just about to move away when another identical pair went overhead. There were three pairs of these lights in total, one pair that alerted my wife and two more pairs that I saw myself. What was even more bizarre was how all the lights were a bright orange colour, apart from the final one which was a strong red colour. The size of the lights was unbelievable. Each one looked to be around 30-50 feet in diameter, they were going at quite some velocity with no visible means of propulsion - yet in complete silence. I have never seen anything like it in my life. It shook me to the core - I don´t like things that can´t be explained." Unsure of what to do next, Mr Saunders called the police, but was unimpressed with their response: "I think they have a stock response for things like this, which is to say it was probably Chinese lanterns. I can tell you with certainty that what I saw that night was not lanterns," he said {! Mr Saunders contacted his son, who works as a police officer at New Scotland Yard. Clearly worried, he explained what he had seen and was told by his son that these occurances aren´t uncommon, and that hundreds of similar cases had been reported. A lot of these cases also coincide with reports of mutilated cattle in fields close to confirmed sightings {??? - was ist dies für ein mythischer Unsinn}. The shaken pensioner, a former police officer, said how he was told while serving with the RAF in 1953 that UFOs not only existed, but there was a special division within the force to research them. He has kept an open mind ever since: "I believe it is arrogant of humans to think that we are the only living, breathing, thinking organisms in the universe {dies hat ja alles rein gar nicht mit der Sichtung zu tun!}. What I saw on New Year´s Eve only makes for a stronger belief in the unknown. I won´t say I wasn´t at least a little bit scared, I was wary about going outside again immediately afterwards, but the whole thing was also very exciting."<
>Mysterious red light spotted in Dundalk night sky? UFO or just unusual aircraft? Dundalk residents were left gazing into the unknown on Wednesday night as a mysterious red light appeared in the sky. Amidst all the snow drama that has brought much of the county to a standstill, there was room for a close encounter of the strange kind as a Dundalk family left their house to go and view the light. Despite the freezing weather conditions, the family from Father Murray Park went outside and were amazed by the erratic light in the sky. Speaking on the light, one member of the family said: "It was very freaky. My mother came running down from the hall shouting at us to get out onto the street. We did not know what was wrong. I thought there might have been an accident so we went onto the street and there was this medium sized red light, but it was flying really low in the sky. From first glance, it was like a plane on fire or something, but then it started to get higher and higher, then, suddenly it disappeared. It was mad." According to the resident, it was like nothing he had ever seen. "We were thinking that it could have been a plane, but it wasn´t. Well it could have been, but planes don´t have that type of light, not that bright and certainly not as big as what we saw." Anyone else who happened to see this strange light, or has videos/images of it, please feel free to get in touch with us at: gary@dundalkdemocrat.<

>UFO? Or just New Year´s celebrations! Is it a plane? Is it a fancy new firework? Is it an out of control floating lantern? Or is it visitors from space? Care worker Mandeep Panesar is stuck for answers after capturing a bright orange light dancing in the sky and seemingly breaking all known laws of physics. The 25-year-old was enjoying a view of the stars on New Year´s Day during a break from his job at Outreach Care, Epsom Road, Seven Kings, when his eye was drawn to the light. He said: "It took me a couple of seconds to react, then I ran inside to grab a camera. The still pictures don´t look like much, but I started filming as it was zipping all over the place. It was there for about 40 seconds before disappearing." New Year revellers are the most likely explanation for the light anomaly, but Mr Panesar is not so sure. He said: "I have shown the video to a few people, who cannot believe what they are seeing. All I know is it is definitely strange." Mr Panesar, of Berkeley Avenue, Clayhall, waited with baited breath for another 10 to 15 minutes, but did not see the light again. It was only when he watched it back that he realised just how strange it was. He said: "I knew it was flying about all over the place, but the film shows just how crazy it was going. Nothing can move that quickly in all different directions*. I asked around to find out if anyone else saw it, but nobody did . I´d love to know what it was. It´s out of this world." Make your own mind up as to the origins of this mysterious light by checking out the footage.<

>Chinese lantern sparks warning from firefighters Fire chiefs have issued a safety warning after a Chinese lantern ´firework´ torched a plastic bin in Torquay. They say the popular pyrotechnics could easily set fire to a thatched cottage if released in the wrong conditions. Victim Robert Stephenson escaped relatively lightly when the flying lantern dropped out of the heavens too soon and -- still burning -- landed in his plastic recycling bin, which melted. The incident occurred in the first few minutes of 2010 at the back of his property in Windsor Road where the lantern made its crash landing at 12.15am. "Luckily I was in the kitchen and saw the flames coming from the bin. They were about 2-3ft high. The whole thing went up. I was able to deal with it quickly before the fire spread," said 62-year-old Robert who put the fire out with several buckets of water collected from his outside tap.
Mr Stephenson didn´t require the services of firefighters on New Year´s Day because he was able to deal with the matter himself. But he did ring up afterwards to express his concerns about the devices.<

>´Mystery lights are lanterns´ - "There are no aliens in the sky." That was the message from one annoyed reader in Kilwinning who says the ´strange´, orange lights everyone has seen are really Chinese lanterns. The woman, who lives in the Whitehurst area of the town, told the Herald: "There are no aliens in the sky just Chinese lanterns. I know what these lights are because my neighbour has been setting lanterns off from their garden. Every time they do people start thinking they are seeing aliens. I witnessed three of them go up into the sky last week and they had orange flames in the middle of them. I am sick to death of people talking about these ´strange´ lights and I would just like to put an end to this once and for all." And Lorna Pirrie has sent in evidence to prove that one sighting was really Chinese lanterns. She said: "Following your story about lights in the sky I can almost certainly say the lights seen on December 12 over Fairlie was caused by a sky lantern. I know this because I was there when it was set off around 8.30pm. I have included a picture of one being launched." Nick Pope, who used to run the British Government´s UFO project and is now one of the leading experts in the unexplained, exclusively told the Herald: "I´m fairly sure, from the descriptions, these are Chinese lanterns - miniature hot air balloons with a small burner underneath. They glow bright orange when seen at night and can move very slowly, or quite quickly, dependent upon the wind speed. They are frequently launched at weddings, birthday parties and barbecues. Christmas and the New Year is also a time when people tend to launch them - indeed, I saw two myself, on Christmas Eve. If you haven´t seen any before, they can look quite striking. They are responsible for a high proportion of UFO sightings in the UK {jetzt gilt zu hoffen, das er diese Punkt auch endlich einmal unopportunistisch gegenüber die SUN macht schon nicht beim nächsten mal wieder das Mäntelchen nach dem Mystery-Wind hängt!}." And this could explain the sighting one family witnessed on Christmas Day. Laura Yuill said: "On leaving my family´s home in Hamilton Drive, Largs on Christmas night we were all in awe as three orange lights moved across the sky. It was the strangest sight. There was no noise from these objects and they followed each other with a small gap in between. Then all of a sudden they veered right towards the Greenock area and disappeared. This happened around 9.10pm and we would really like to know if anyone else saw these flying objects." + Do you think all these sightings are Chinese lanterns? >Sunderland UFO sightings: The truth Little Layla Wood may hold the key to the mystery of the strange lights that have been spotted in the Sunderland sky. The Echo has been inundated with calls and emails from readers after we reported on sightings of objects floating above Hylton Castle during the festive period. But it seems the unidentified lights, which have also been spotted elsewhere across Wearside and East Durham, may be Chinese sky lanterns. Three of the hot air balloons were set off on New Year´s Day and the following day to celebrate Bexhill School pupil Layla´s fifth birthday. Stepdad Mark Bulmer, of Baltimore Square, said: "We bought them for Layla´s birthday celebrations. We´ve never used them before and we were surprised at how high they go. We set them off in Town End Farm but they floated off over Hylton Castle, which is what we think people have seen." The 35-year-old added: "They are made of tissue paper and are three to four feet high, from underneath they look like orange circles. Layla loved them." On Tuesday, the Echo reported on the Tokes family who had spotted three unidentified lights in the sky above their home in Hepburn Grove, Castletown. Les Tokes, 52, said: "They were pulsating red and orange and were completely silent as they passed over the house. We couldn´t believe what we were seeing." Since then, dozens of readers have been contacting the Echo saying they too have seen them. Many people appear to have spotted the lights floating in the night sky throughout the festive period. But, several people are saying there is no mystery to the lights and claim they are in fact the new craze of Chinese lanterns, which are becoming an increasingly popular alternative to fireworks. Kathleen Taylor, 65, from The Avenue in Hetton, said she saw a strange orange light just minutes after midnight on New Year´s Eve. She said: "I couldn´t take my eyes off it, I was really fascinated by it. It was like a small ball of fire in the sky. I thought it was a plane on fire, but then realised it was rising up. I didn´t know what it was, but I don´t believe in UFOs." Anne Laing was celebrating New Year´s Eve at her home in Moorside when just after the stroke of midnight she and a friend saw three of the strange lights hovering in the sky. She said: "At first, we thought we were seeing things, but there was three of them together just still in the sky and they lasted ages." What you saw... Readers have been contacting the Echo to report mysterious lights sightings, - Lyndsey Fox, 21, from Seaham, who saw 20 lights fly over her home, said: "I believe that these mysterious orange lights are nothing but Chinese lanterns that are used for celebrations." - Paula Weston said: "I live in Coventry but was visiting relations in Sunderland for Christmas (Bede Street, Roker). Early evening on Christmas Day, me and my brother-in-law went outside for a cigarette and saw a strange orange light in the sky." - Jacqueline Watson, of Harraton, Washington, said: " I too saw the orange lights on Saturday. I was looking out over the back garden at the snow when I noticed two lights following a parallel course coming from the south-east towards Harraton in Washington. They approached quite steadily, then simply disappeared into thin air." - Anthony Cuthbert said: "I saw the orange light next to the Alexandra Bridge." - David Young from Washington said: "It wasn´t a UFO. They are called Chinese lanterns. They are available in different shapes, cost ?2-?3 each, and are basically a paper hot air balloon with a special candle at the bottom to provide hot air and make them light up and float up into the sky."<

>Mystery of lights in the Devizes sky A Devizes family had an encounter of the eerie kind when they saw lights in the sky on New Year´s Day. Andrew Collier, 37, of Elm Tree Gardens, said the lights have to be described as unidentified flying objects, although he agrees they could be Chinese lanterns released by revellers. He and his wife Helen saw the lights after going out to look at fireworks set off at midnight. Mr Collier said: "After the fireworks finished, we saw these bright orange lights in the sky. At first we thought they were embers from the fireworks but they stayed there. It went on for about an hour and at one point there were three in the sky at one time. Then at 9.15pm that evening there were more of them. It was quite surreal. Helen rang the police and they told her that they´d had a report from Staverton, so it wasn´t just Devizes." Mr Collier acknowledged the lights could have been Chinese lanterns, but added: "They were really travelling, not just drifting." Chinese lanterns, banned in the US as a fire risk, are paper lanterns with a candle-like heat source which, when lit, float into the sky until the candle burns out.<

Gestern schon kam ´All News Web´ ( http://www.allnewsweb.com/page98999... ) mit der Headline ´Mass UFO sighting in France investigated and confirmed by police´ daher und machte auf dicke Hose: "Police on the Isle of Oleron off the coast of France near the city of Bordeaux have confirmed that they are investigating a mass UFO sighting that took place on New year´s Eve {!}. The authorities have interviewed at least three {sowie zur ´Masensichtung´} independent witnesses and believe that their testimonies are reliable. The Police officer handling the initial investigation, Lieutenant Bourdajeau, noted that ´The testimonies of witnesses seem highly consistent {klar, wenn sie das selbe sahen} and we can verify that this was not a hallucination {sind die meisten UFO-Sichtungen sowieso nicht, was soll also dieses Geschwätz außer überhaupt was wenn auch als Worthülsen gesagt zu haben?}: An egg shape object appeared at around 8pm, it was silent and hovered in one spot before speeding off ... lit up in red and yellow, stayed fixed for quite a while ... the UFO was at about 600 metres from the coast and at a height of about 300 metres ... The police will soon hand the file over to GEIPAN, France´s official UFO investigative body, for further study."
Lumi?res Oranges/Lampions Chinois/Montgolfi?re Miniature
Here comes what could have been a typical UFO mess up case: It flies slowly over the town just after sunset. It has a red light when it flies up and turns to dark when it flies down... so did THEY arrive? No, this UFO lost it´s U(nidentified) quite fast as it turned out to be a... chinese lantern! A few months ago, in a neighboring town, people called the police because they tought they saw an UFO which turned out to be, like in this case, a chinese lantern. I just posted this video to show that even if you see something in the sky that moves unconventionally, don´t immediately call Fox Mulder, call your brains! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0HT... ´.
