"Gadebusch: Himmelsphänomen löst Forscherstreit aus" hieß es heute in der ´Schweriner Volkszeitung´ ( http://www.svz.de/lokales/gadebusch... und http://www.svz.de/mecklenburg-vorpo... ):

> Eine Woche nach dem Himmelsphänomen bei Gadebusch ist ein offener Streit unter Ufo-Forschern entbrannt. Anlass dafür ist ein Lösungsmodell des "Centralen Erforschungsnetzes außergewöhnlicher Himmelsphänomene" unter Amateurastronom Werner Walter (50) in Mannheim. Seiner Ansicht nach könnte die Ufo-Erscheinung mit einem Fata-Morgana-Effekt erklärbar sein. Auslöser wäre demnach ein 61 Meter hoher Industrieschornstein in Leezen, der mit einer aufsteigenden warmen Dampf-Rauchsäule im Sonnenlicht das Phänomen "klammheimlich" erzeugte. Verstärkt worden könnte die Luftspiegelung durch den zwischengelagerten und in "Ufo"-Sichtrichtung liegenden Schweriner See, so Walter. Da Leezen zudem 58 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel und Gadebusch nur 35Meter über Normal Null liegt, ließe sich auch erklären, warum das "Phänomen" höherliegend ausgemacht wurde.

Die These, das Himmelsphänomen könnte ein Kondensstreifen gewesen sein, lässt Walter nicht gelten. Denn die Ufo-Aufklärungsgruppe erfuhr, dass das Phänomen nicht nur bei Gadebusch beobachtet wurde, sondern Stunden später auch von einem Paar von Rostock aus.

Seit gestern tobt nun ein offener Gelehrtenstreit. Denn die "Gesellschaft zur Untersuchung von anomalen atmosphärischen und Radar-Erscheinungen" (Mufon-Ces) schob Walters Schornstein-Theorie in die Ecke der Märchen. "Dieser Amateurastronom sitzt auf seinem Sofa in Mannheim und glaubt, von dort aus eine Lösung zu finden. Wir haben von glaubwürdigen Zeugen vor Ort gehört, dass der Verlauf der ´Feuersäule´ von oben nach unten verlief. Wenn es eine Luftspiegelung gegeben haben sollte, wäre der Verlauf anders herum", sagt Horst-Christian Meyer von der Mufon-Ces. Ihm liegt inzwischen ein weiteres Foto vor, auf dem sowohl das Himmelsphänomen als auch zwei weitere Kondensstreifen zu sehen sind. Neben einer Zivilmaschine könnte also ein zweiter Flieger - möglicherweise ein Kampfjet - in der Luft gewesen sein. Die Luftwaffe schloss bislang militärische Aktivitäten aus.<

Kurious, plötzlich ist ein Streit um ein IFO entstanden, das hat man in der deutschen UFO-Szene auch nicht jedes Jahrzehnt! Normal ist doch der Zank darüber was nun UFO oder IFO ist.

Uni Leipzig und die Exos...

Mit Verblüffung nahm ich unter http://www.exopolitik.org/index.php... war, dass der religionswissenschaftliche Vortrag an der Uni Lepzig plötzlich als "UFO-Debatte an der Universität Leipzig" ausgegeben word - von interessiertem Kreise (der ´Deutschen Initiative für Exopolitik und Freigabe der UFO-Technologie´), wo es dazu nun heißt:

"UFOs - Zwischen Glaube und Realität" lautete der Titel der Veranstaltung, die vom Religionswissenschaftlichen Institut der Alma Mater Lipsiensis organisiert worden war. Anwesend beim Vortrag: Rund 100 interessierte Leipziger, ein Kamerateam vom MDR - und zwei Kamerateams von uns*. Ziel der Veranstaltung: Das Thema {welches Thema genau und spezfisch??? - es ging ja nicht um DAS UFO-PHÄNOMEN aus naturwissenschaftlicher Sicht, sondern religionswissenschaftlich um den Bereich GLAUBE/ABERGLAUBE, was ja bei den allerwenigsten UFOlogen überhaupt von Bedeutung ist} soll endlich auf akademischem Niveau untersucht werden. Die Referenten Martin Bamert und Michael Blume haben mit ihren Vorträgen Mut bewiesen: Bereits im Vorfeld hatten sie Warnungen erhalten, dass die Beschäftigung mit dem UFO-Thema sich "negativ auf die universitäre Karriere" auswirken könnte...< Die Exos weiter dazu um sich mehr Bedeutung zu geben: "Es liegt nun in der Verantwortung der Ernst zu nehmenden deutschen UFO-Organisationen wie MUFON-CES, DEGUFO und GEP, den Faden weiter zu spinnen und die Uni-Wissenschaftler auf den neuesten Stand zu bringen. So stellt sich beispielsweise auf Grund der zahlreichen physikalischen Wechselwirkungen und Zeugenaussagen hoher Militärs die Frage, ob eine rein ´religionswissenschaftliche´ Untersuchung des UFO-Phänomens - mit Verlaub! - nicht etwas zu kurz gedacht ist. Aus unserer Sicht ist vielmehr eine breite, interdisziplinäre Erforschung des UFO-Phänomens von Nöten, gefördert durch öffentliche Mittel - schon allein deshalb, weil das UFO-Thema den derzeitigen Horizont der Wissenschaften ganz offenkundig übersteigt."

Die UFOs in Texas...die Medienmaschine läuft heiß

Ten days after the first sightings of lights in the sky over Texas, tales of UFOs are still sparking speculation. One of the witnesses, Steve Allen, is offering $5,000 for a good picture of the flying object - but he hasn&#8217;t bought any of the photos or videos offered so far. "The pictures weren&#8217;t worth a damn," he told me. On Saturday, he and other witnesses are gathering to pool their accounts for a national UFO organization &#8211; but there&#8217;s always a chance the Texas sightings will fade into the distance, just like the O´Hare UFO sightiung over a year ago. What´s the best way to document a sighting? Here are some tips:

Take a picture

Getting an image of something in the sky may sound like the best way to go, but as this month´s reports illustrate, that´s not always sure-fire. Allen was one of the most widely quoted witnesses of the purported flyover on Jan. 8, and it was his desire to have an image that led him to offer the $5,000 reward. "I´d have given five grand that day to have a camera," he explained. Several residents from the area around Stephenville, Texas, responded - but Allen said the pictures showed little more than dots in the sky. "I don´t need a dot standing out there," he said. Today the Fort Worth Star Telegraph published a front-page picture of the sighting, taken by a trucker with his cell phone as he drove along Interstate 20. "It looked like a meteor entering the atmosphere," the truck driver, Sean Kiel, was quoted as saying. Allen was unimpressed. "It´s not worth a flip," he told me. The bright spot´s position in relation to the sun reminded me of a sundog, and the speck on the upper part of the image looked like an airplane. But of course, I´m no expert. Photos are easy to fake. For example, in the case of the O´Hare UFO sightings, there were rumblings for weeks afterward about photographs showing the strange saucer over the airport. However, more than a year after the story caused such a sensation, only one picture remains that hasn´t been debunked, according to Above Top Secret. And that one is far from conclusive.

Take a reading

NBC News space analyst James Oberg is hardly a true believer. Over the years, he´s been pilloried by ufologists for coming down too hard on claims of strange sightings. But in the Texas case, Oberg is reluctant to prejudge the witnesses. Rather, he merely says that observers should be alert if they have an opportunity to identify a strange sky object. Here´s what he had to say in an e-mail: "Anytime you get a revisiting UFO, you have the chance to narrow down the normally near-infinite candidate list of prosaic explanations. You can ask people to memorize or record positions in the sky and angular size and speed of the apparition - not make unhelpful and automatically suspect guesses of sheer size and range, guesses that always involve unspoken (and unrealized) guesses about exactly those parameters that are supposedly being reported. Compare the object to the size of a fingertip, or a fist, at arm´s length. Note where you are when you see it, and where it is over - and later go back and convert that to a true compass bearing. Log the times as accurately as possible - and if by your own watch, later compare it to a clock on a news channel. That way, separate but simultaneous sightings can be combined to create parallax measurements of true range. If nobody does this serious observation stuff, they may all be excited and have fun, but they´ll be of no use to figuring out what may be behind the apparitions - and there´s lots of stuff, some of it deliberately clandestine, that could be masquerading. Seeing jets chasing a UFO is a common perception - it´s happened to me at least twice - and one has to be cautious about interpretations. Even at ranges of a mile or two, three jets in a close row will give the impression of the first object being silent - a ´UFO´ - because the sound delay makes the second jet appear to be the first object giving off engine noise. It is a striking misinterpretation that most folks are never warned about. I´m not offering it as an explanation - only as a cautionary admonition."

Take a meeting

The Texas chapter of the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON, has scheduled a session starting at 1 p.m. CT Saturday in Dublin, Texas, to interview Allen and other witnesses. To hear MUFON state director Ken Cherry tell it, the spectators and journalists in attendance might well outnumber those witnesses. "Normally we do this in a more private setting," he told me today. Nevertheless, Cherry said he has received eyewitness reports from at least 40 to 50 "folks who sound credible," via telephone (817-379-0773) or the MUFON Web site. "We consider this the most significant mass sighting since the Phoenix Lights of 1997," he said. MUFON investigators will be asking the witnesses to fill out three-page questionnaires and also tell their stories - and the results will be eventually be compiled in a report. "The whole process will probably take several months," Cherry said. Will the Texas sighting be the event that finally rips the lid off the UFO conspiracy, or will it go into the same file drawer where the O´Hare and Phoenix cases are sitting? But even if there´s been no space invasion of Stephenville, the recent obsession with them has been out of this world in the town of 15,400 &#8212; and far beyond. Ken Cherry, the Texas director of the Colorado-based Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON, which describes itself as devoted to research on the topic, says the multiple sightings of a strobelight-flashing object zipping through the night sky on Jan. 8 could turn Stephenville into a mini-Roswell. "Dozens of people are coming forward, responsible people, saying they saw something," Cherry said. "We´re talking shop owners, ranch owners, oil field workers, just about every demographic imaginable."

Forget being the Cowboy Capital of the World. Folks in town are calling Stephenville the UFO Capital of the World. Angela Joiner, the only full-time reporter at the Stephenville Empire-Tribune, can hardly put out a paper. Ever since breaking the story last week, she´s been swamped with calls and e-mails from around the world &#8212; from people who either want to tell her about their UFO sightings or from international media types covering the story. "I´m not accustomed to this. I don´t do this!" Joiner, who´s been on the job 18 months, said with a laugh. Perhaps the only person who gets less work done these days is the local constable, LeeRoy Gaitan. He´s in demand as the only elected official who can corroborate what dozens of others saw: something spooky in the sky over Erath County that evening. He was on foot approaching his home when in the distance he saw a red glow, not as big as a hot air balloon but big {!!!}. It didn´t appear to be attached to anything. He watched it awhile before it burned itself out. Then it reappeared. "I knew this wasn´t right," he said. So he went inside to summon his family. His wife gave him this "get real" look, Gaitan said, but his young son came running. Father and son saw what looked like really bright white strobe lights, nine or 10 of them. They flashed as the minutes passed. "All of a sudden, they shot off, they traveled northeast at a real high rate of speed," Gaitan said. Though he doesn´t believe it was a spaceship, he´s had to answer calls from hundreds of people from around the country who do. His solution: "I´ve started screening my calls," he said.

Military officials have said they had no aircraft in the area at the time of the sightings. And the military doesn´t investigate UFO sightings. So that leaves Cherry´s MUFON group. Four or five of its investigators will descend on the area today to begin interviewing witnesses. It won´t be a quick investigation, Cherry cautions. Interviews will be conducted one on one. And even after all the anecdotes have been gathered and sifted through &#8212; don´t expect physical evidence &#8212; the researchers will hedge their bets. "We could say we eliminated every other possibility. But we never say, ´This is alien technology´ or ´This is a spacecraft,´ " Cherry said. For now, people around town are having a ball. City Secretary Cindy Stafford wore a space alien mask to the City Council this week. It was fun, she said. Dennis Balthaser, a UFO researcher and former investigator with the International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell, N.M., isn´t ready to make any educated guesses about what might have crossed the sky in Texas. But, if the lights were a mile long and half a mile across, as some have suggested, that would be the size of a "mothership," which is much bigger than a flying saucer, he said. Balthaser, a retired engineer with the Texas Department of Transportation, takes his research seriously and hates when other people don´t. He probably wouldn´t appreciate the T-shirts produced by the high school science club here that proclaim: "Erath County: The New Roswell" and depict a spaceship leaving Earth and towing a dairy cow. By Friday, the club had sold 400 of them.<

All civil aircraft have a flashing red beacon on them" says Letourneau Dean of Aeronautic Engineering, Fred Ritchey. But could advanced technology overcome the laws of physics? "Einstein discovered in his theory of relativity it would require and infinite amount of energy in order to increase something´s speed to the speed of light, there´s nothing to say that there couldn´t be a worm hole. We can´t exclude it, but they´ve never been observed" Forringer says.

"Either it´s a civilian aircraft or its a military aircraft that the military is not acknowledging. Once you eliminate the impossible then you have the probable" Ritchey says. "The laws of physics are applicable throughout the entire universe. At this point, it belongs in the category of science fiction" Forringer says. Letourneau professors do not discount the possibility of advanced technology, but stress that physical laws would still apply.<

CNN, Larry King Live! - "Dou You Believe in UFOs? UFOs: Questions & Controversy! UFO Sightings Put Spotlight on Stephenville, Texas" (und schon bei YouTube aufgespielt: http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=MMyWu... - http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7RYV... - http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=PvgxL... - http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=ADZBb... ) war in etwa das Thema, um grundsätzlich eine amerikanische ´Fliegende Untertassen´-Debatte zu führen, Aufhänger war hierfür der genannte Fall. Was konnten wir zum Fall selbst lernen, was teilten Zeugen davon mit? In einem Einsteiger-Einspieler sahen wir zwei neue Zeugen, die kurz ihre Beobachtungen ausführten. Ganz langsam waren da minutenlang einige rote oder orangene Lichter geräuschlos und nicht allzu hoch wie in einer Formation dahingezogen! - "They came right across the sky, across the northern edge of Stephenville, Texas, which I´m two blocks from the courthouse right here. They were quite large and moved quite slowly. They were at low altitude and made absolutely no noise at all. They were glowing red. The lights were moving together, as though they were in formation or attached together in some way..." Im Studio bei King sind Dauer-Blendax-Lächler James Fox (klar, bekommt er doch so billigste Reklame national und international für seine DVDs ´Out of the Blue´) und Stan Friedman. Fox zeigt gleich, wie viel Ahnung er von der Materie selbst hat, indem er über einen KOMET - Oje! - rhetorisch sich auslässt, was sogar Friedman zuviel ist und der ihn erst mal zurechtweisen muss, um zu erklären, was ein Komet überhaupt ist. Dafür sah er das Stephenville-Phänomen in der Kategorie der "Motherships" eingeordnet. Aus Texas zugeschaltet waren Steve Allen, Claudette Odam als Sichtungszeugen und die Journalistin Angelia Joiner von der Ortszeitung, die diese Geschichte in Gang brachte. Allen führte so aus, das er 2-3 Minuten lang seine flammenfarbigen Lichter (!) zunächst mit angenommenen 2.000-3.000 mph* aus Richtung Nachbarort immer langsamer werdend herbeikommen sah, die dann mitten über der Stadt anhielten, um dann dort geräuschlos in Flammen zu vergehen - "The lights reconfigured and turned into flames, to burst in flames and then it disappeared" {das Ausbrennen der MHBs geht ruckzuck}; USAF-Maschinen kamen dann erst zehn Minuten in der Gegend vorübergeflogen - was auch seinen Grund hat, wie wir noch erfahren werden! Claudette Odam sah "stark orange-leuchtende Lichter" am Himmel dahinziehen, die sich nicht nur miteinander voran als ´Gebilde´, sondern auch untereinander leicht bewegten und damit die Konfiguration der Gesamterscheinung auch veränderten (wie bei dem Constable!). Frau Joiner meinte dann zur Beschreibung von Ooam, dass DAZU die meisten Beobachtungsbeschreibungen passten, die sie erhielt.

*= Diseses "schneller als jedes Flugzeug" kennen wir als Zeugeneindruck ebenso aus Darstellungen in der laufenden deutschen UFO-Welle bestens! In Wirklichkeit wird die Flughöhe viel zu hoch eingeschätzt, die Objekte viel zu groß - wodurch dann diese Irritation wahrnehmungspsychologisch bedingt zustande kommt. Den Beobachtern geht gar nicht auf, dass selbst nur bei halber Schätzgeschwindigkeit die Flugkörper dann binnen Sekunden von Horizont zu Horizont durch sein müssten und nie minutenlang in aller Deutlichkeit die Sichtung andauern könnte! Waren Sie schon mal auf einen Flugtag, wo z.B. eine F-4 nur ein paar hundert Meter hoch mit einiger Flugleistung durchrauscht? Dann wissen Sie genau, was ich meine, da reist man nur den Kopf mit, wenn die Maschine am einen Horizont auftaucht und ´blitzschnell´ über einen vorbei zum anderen Horizont hindüst. DASS ist ein Sauseschritt. Bei dem zudem ganz schön durch die Windschleppe bedingt sich das Röckchen hebt...alter Schwede. Die Besucher von Cröffelnach 2007, die unser Feld-Experiment mit den Asiatischen Himmelslaternen begleiteten, haben doch alle den Eindurckseffekt selbst mitbekommen, wie flott diese MHB abziehen können während hinter uns eine mit vielleicht 800-900 km/h dahinziehende Passagiermaschine dagegen im Vergleich lahm wirkt!

Wie bei der letzte Sendung zur ´Out of the Blue´-PK in Washington wurden die selben wirren UFO-Videoclips eingespielt, die gar nicht zu diesem Thema hier passten (Beispiel: Roswell) oder gar da und dort es an der falschen Stelle sogar noch mehr verwirrten. Aus Dallas wurde Kenneth E. Cherry als der MUFON*-Chef der Region zugeschaltet, ein strammer Ami-UFOloge durch und durch, der sofort die aktuelle Geschichte als die "signifikanteste und bedeutendste Massensichtung seit den Phoenix-Lichtern von 1997" vorstellte! Wo selbst King erstaunt nachfragen musste, "Really?" Da war schon klar, was für ein Typ der Mann ist. Und die Regierungs-Verschwörungen um die "UFOs" aus dem Kosmos scheinen sein Thema in Wirklichkeit zu sein, aber auch da auch recht ahnungslos, als er behauptete, das sogar die japanische Luftwaffe schon ihre UFO-Akten freigab (die hat gar keine, da sie sich mit dem Thema nicht beschäftigt!). Ein Mann voller Wunschvorstellungen als Aushängeschild für die anlaufenden Fall-Untersuchungen? Na Mahlzeit, wenn schon der Bock zum Gärtner gemacht wird. Ich muss eingestehen, an diesem Punkt angekommen, gar keine richtige Lust mehr gehabt zu haben, der Sendung weiter folgen zu wollen, vor allen Dingen weil sie jetzt vom Ausgangsfall wegtrat, um die Phoenix-Lichter von 1997 in den Mittelpunkt zu stellen und als geheimen Regierungs-Flugkörper zu promoten. Cherry machte dann die ewigen Verkünder und erklärte, dass der aktuelle Fall nur darauf hin ausgerichtet sei, der Öffentlichkeit zu sagen, was wirklich in Sachen UFOs vor sicht geht. Wer kann und will diese Durchhalteparolen eigentlich noch hören, außer jenen die sie selbst aussprechen, um sich selbst noch Hoffnung zu geben?

Der Alibi-Skeptiker der Sendung machte auch hier James McGhana, der zum aktuellen Fall dies beizutragen hatte: Stephenville liegt in mehreren Luftfahrtkorridoren, zivilen wie militärischen und liegt dazu noch genau zwischen zwei Military Operating Areas (MOAs), die auch am Abend des 8.Januar 2008 genutzt worden sind und demenstprechend auch von Militärdüsenjägern (insgesamt acht F-16er nutzten an diesem Abend den Korridor) durchflogen und damit Stephenville von ihnen überflogen wurde, routinemäßig und nicht um UFOs zu verfolgen. Dagegen gab es keinerlei Widerworte der Beteiligten in dieser Runde!
