Mittwoch, der 5.Sepetmber 2007. Während man in der ´Stuttgarter Zeitung´ zum dort gemeldeten Vorfall in Korntal weiterhin lieber schwieg (und damit Zeugen nicht darüber informierte, was dort am Himmel los war), griff das ´Solinger Tagblatt´ dagegen den bereits erwähnten Fall auf ( http://www.solinger-tageblatt.de/sr... ):

Ein ST-Leser hatte vor zwei Wochen nachts fliegende Objekte über dem Bereich Ketzberg entdeckt. Sie seien aus Richtung Wasserturm gekommen und über Cronenberg am Himmel verschwunden. Zuletzt seien es bis zu acht Flugkörper gewesen. Laut Polizei hatte es auch in Wuppertal zwei Anrufe wegen "glühender Kugeln", die sich vollkommen lautlos und schnell bewegten. Polizeipressesprecher Alexander Kresta erkundigte sich daraufhin bei der deutschen Flugsicherung, die jedoch keine unbekannten Objekte vermelden konnte. "Allerdings könnten neuartige Partyballone die Ursache sein", meinte der Polizist damals. Und damit lag er genau richtig: "Die Lichtphänomene haben eine natürliche Ursache", stellt Marcus Nicolini heute klar: "In der Nacht des 25./26. August haben Gäste unserer Hochzeit im evangelischen Gemeindezentrum in Ketzberg ´Skylichter´ entzündet und in den nächtlichen Himmel steigen lassen." Die Kette von rund 15 Laternen sei dann "majestätisch" in Richtung Wuppertal-Cronenberg entschwebt. "Es war ein wunderschöner Anblick - einfach unvergesslich!" erinnert sich der frisch gebackene Ehemann. Eine Skylaterne ist ein unten offener Sack aus Reispapier. Durch einen an der Öffnung befestigten Brennkörper wird die Luft im Inneren wie bei einem Heißlufballon erhitzt. In der Nacht ist der fliegende Lampion so über weite Strecken sichtbar. Nach Herstellerangaben kann er bis zu 500 Meter aufsteigen. Die unbekannten Flugobjekte waren übrigens nicht nur in den lokalen Medien ein Thema. Sie tauchten auch in der "Ufo-Meldestelle" auf.

Im Forum des Astrotreff.de meldete sich derweilen ein Beobachter mit diesem Bericht, aufgrund einer Sichtung über Kiel, über die dort am 1.9.07 das Thema ´Helle Kugel am Himmel´ eröffnet worden war (wir berichteten): "...Ich habe am 01.09. gegen 22.15 Uhr zwar keine Kugel, aber eine Formation aus glühenden Bruchstücken über Weimar gesehen. Diese 15 bis 20 Objekte waren etwa 90sec zu sehen."

Die Lüdenscheider GEP meldete einen weiteren Falleingang: >28.08.2007, ca. 21:00 MESZ, 38667 Bad Harzburg; Sachverhalt: Zusammen mit seiner Freundin beobachtete der Zeuge ein "hellrotes Licht", das vom Feld hinter seiner Wohnung aufstieg, einige Minuten still stand und dann mit "rasanter Geschwindigkeit" in südlicher Richtung immer kleiner werdend verschwand. Von dem Objekt konnte der Zeuge ein paar Fotos machen.<

In England dagegen gibt es in der Presse bekanntlich keine ´UFO-Scheu´ und der ´Wandsworth Guardian´ hatte die Headline ´Friend or UFO?´ aufgesetzt:

>Stargazers were left scratching their heads after mysterious orange lights appeared in the sky over Surbiton on Friday night. Radio reports said at least 12 people from Surbiton and Ewell phoned in after spotting the display, described as a series of lights in the shape of a ferris wheel. Among them was Ron Johnson, from Worcester Park, a member of Ewell Astronomical Society, who said he had never seen anything like Friday´s light display in his 40 years of skywatching {sic!}. He said: "At 10.02pm there were 10 spherical lights which were a yellow, golden colour. To me they appeared to be drifting with the wind. I stopped to watch because it was not something I´d seen before."

Linda Hope, from West Ewell, said: "I was in the garden and these lights began appearing over the roofs of the cottages, quite close behind each other, but spread across the sky and quite high up. I realised my husband would think I was barmy if I were to tell him, so ran indoors where he was sound asleep on the sofa. I shook him and got him outside and we both watched in the garden as the lights still appeared from the west and disappeared into the clouds in the far distance. This went on for at least five minutes in all and I would think about 50 to 60 lights. Two of them seemed to play´ with each other - darting across and overtaking. It was quite spooky, being silent, and so many of them." Susan Stoud-Bury, from Stoneleigh, was also baffled by the sight and contacted our site to see if others had seen them. She said: "My son and I realised they were too close together to be aeroplanes and at first I thought they may have been the army or police. They all followed the same path and appeared as orange lights and crosses that pulsated. It was quite scary, because it was an unusual sight to see. I didn´t count how many there were and they definitely were not hot air balloons."

No definite explanation has yet been given of the extraordinary light formation. Past theories have included everything from laser shows in central London to "UFO balloons" - decorative oriental lanterns which drift with the prevailing wind and usually glow whitish-yellow, but can take on the orangy glow reported given the right atmospheric conditions. Mr Johnson said he doubted the lights were anything supernatural. He said: "People tend to jump to conclusions about unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and try to sensationalise. What people think might be a UFO is usually something atmospheric." Robert Rosamond, chairman of the British UFO Research Organisation, said: "At face value your orange lights would appear to fit a familiar bill - Chinese lanterns as opposed to an invasion from space. These pesky objects (the lamps, not UFOs) seem to be back in vogue once more, consequently they´ve been seen over the length and breadth of the UK recently. However, face value isn´t an informed opinion and as such we would need to see the original reports and talk to the witnesses in an effort to ascertain the exact circumstances of their sighting(s) before making any kind of comment."<

Der britische ´Rugby Advertiser´ berichtete wie im Wettrennen um UFO-Meldungen von der ´Großen Insel´ ( http://www.rugbytoday.co.uk/news/My... ) unter der Headline "Mystery lights spotted flying around Rugby" dies:

>STRANGE lights have been spotted flying over Rugby by dozens of onlookers. Many readers have contacted the Advertiser to tell us about their sightings - and people in other nearby towns have reported similar incidents over the weekend. Air traffic control said it cannot explain what the lights are {sic!}. Witnesses said the mystery lights travelled in a staggered formation faster than a jumbo jet. Sightings of bright individual lights were also spotted flying across the sky the previous Saturday. Hillmorton resident Dean Clark was in Brownsover on Saturday when he and his friends saw the lights below the cloud level at about 8.30pm. "I am an -ex-military man and I have seen a lot of strange things in my time, but this has to be the strangest yet {sic!}. There were six lights in a staggered formation but all moving at the same speed and making no noise. I was driving that night so I didn´t have a drink, so people cannot say I was drunk."

Other reports that night described the lights as ´very bright balls of light´. On the Saturday before, John and Sarah Malone said they spotted similar lights travelling individually through the sky at great speed, starting at 8.40pm, while they were enjoying a family barbecue at their home in Boughton Vale. "They were going faster than a plane but made no sound - it was very peculiar," said Sarah. "Many of the neighbours saw them but no one knew what they were." Residents in Banbury also spotted ´strange lights´ in the sky on Saturday. A spokesperson from air traffic control said: "There was nothing around at this time that was under our direct control, and we have no reports logged from pilots. "But we do only look after the air corridors so there might be things up there out of our airspace - there could be a number of rational explanations." The sightings at the weekend mirror the mystery of the lights seen in nearby Stratford in July, which made the national news. Back then, hundreds of onlookers witnessed six lights holding a formation in the sky.<

In diesem Fall sehen wir wir ein Versagen des Journalismus, wenn die aktuellen Sichtung zu dem aufgeklärten Fall von Stratford hin aufgeschlossen wird und mysterifiziert - wozu es keinerlei echter Anlass gibt. Eindeutig spielt man hier wieder ´Akte X´ alias ´Dummstellerei aus Business-Gründen´. Sollte es anders sein, dann wird es nur noch dümmer, weil dann Journalisten ihr Geschäft nicht wirklich verständen und nicht mehr recherchieren können. Daran glauben Sie nicht, ich auch nicht. Hier wird ´mystery´ mit ABSICHT betrieben.

Varros took the pictures from the Aurigid MAC aircraft, a flight organized by Peter Jenniskens of the SETI Institute to study these rare meteors from ancient Comet Kiess. Onboard were 14 scientists armed with image-intensified cameras and spectrometers. "A good time was had by all," says Varros.
