Donnerstag, der 3.April 2008 - der Tag, wo es hieß ´Go´ für Präzisionsarbeit im Sinne eines erstmaligen Andockmanövers im erdnahen Weltraum, weil der unbemannte europäische Raumtransporter ´Jules Verne´ (Automated Transfer Vehicle/ATV, überwiegend gebaut von EADS in Bremen für die ESA) Nahrung, Ausrüstung und Sprit der ISS anliefern sollte. Premiere im All! ATV ist das größte Raumfahrzeug, das bisher in Europa entwickelt wurde. Nach gut drei Wochen im All dockte der neue Raumtransporter an die Internationale Raumstation ISS. Ziel war das russische Modul ´Swesda´, das am Nachmittag europäischer Zeit (16.41 Uhr MESZ) erreicht wurde. Jules Verne näherte sich der ISS mit Hilfe eines Lasersystems, das ein zentimetergenaues Andocken ermöglicht. Das ATV soll bis zu 6 Monate lang dann quasi als der ISS-Antrieb dienlich sein. Er wird der Raumstation neuen Schub geben und sie in eine 30 Kilometer höhere Umlaufbahn befördern. Erst dann wird das ATV zum Luxus-Müllcontainer: Die Astronauten laden alles, was sie nicht mehr brauchen in den Transporter, der wird dann abgekoppelt und verglüht in der Atmosphäre. Milliarden Euro teurer Weltraumschrott, das ATV ist NICHT wiederverwertbar. Deswegen werden für die nächsten Missionen wieder neue ATVs gebaut werden müssen. Vier weitere ATV-Flüge sind für 2010, 2011, 2012 und 2013 geplant.

Jetzt wird es natürlich spannend die durchs ATV-ergänzende und vergrößerte ISS am Himmel zu sehen, leider war in Mannheim an diesem Abend der Himmel stark bewölkt, obwohl die ISS da prächtig erschienen wäre. :-(

Und in Deutschland wird im Auftrag des Technikmuseums Speyer das originale Flugmodell BURAN 002 (OK - GLI) der einstigen sowjetischen Raumfähre auf dem Rhein durch Deutschland transportiert. Der Orbiter befindet sich halb zerlegt auf einem Frachtschiff. In der Woche vom 6. - 12.April 2008 kann der Orbiter auf seiner Reise bestaunt werden. Zum heutigen Artikel in der ´Pforzheimer Zeitung´ meldete sich schon um kurz nach 9 h Frau Jana L. aus Birkenfeld, um ihre Beobachtung des zerbrechenden Boliden vom frühen Sonntagabend zu schildern. Für sie sah die Erscheinung zunächst wie ein "fast waagerechter Lichtstrahl" aus, der für sie von Nord nach Süd huschte, bevor er sich "zerfasserte". Die Dame in ihren 70ern hat soetwas auch noch nie zuvor in ihrem Leben gesehen und fand die Erscheinung ganz "aufwühlend anzuschauen". Natürlich hat sie schon manche Sternschnuppe gesehen, "aber sowas noch nie, toll!" Auch Monika L. aus Pforzheim berichtete den für sie hellbgrün-gelben, irrisierenden, geräuschlosen Körper in einer Art "V"-Form quer durch den Himmel zum Horizont schießen zu sehen, wo er dann in einer leichten Wolkenbank im Süden entschwand. Sie und ihr Mann waren deswegen wie vom Donner gerührt. Soetwas hatten sie auch noch nie gesehen und spekulierten seither über ein "UFO" herum, erste heute fanden sie Beruhigung als sie den Artikel gelesen haben - und Frau L. wollte sich "einfach nur für die Erklärung bedanken"...

29.03.2008, 23:30 MEZ, 88512 Mengen: Zunächst tauchten drei hell leuchtende Punkte am Himmel auf, die sich aus südlicher Richtung kommend auf die Zeugen zubewegten. Es erschienen weitere gelb-rote Lichter, insgesamt waren es etwa 12, die über die Zeugen geräuschlos hinwegflogen und dann im Flug verschwanden.

UFO über Neuseeland?

"Unidentified object flies Canterbury skies" war die Headline der ´Christchurch News´ ( http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/446186... ) und sie berichtete:

Wilkinson, 17, photographed the object, at left, from his Halswell home at 7.27pm. He said it was too slow to be a meteor or a plane, and wondered if it might be satellite debris in the western sky. A handful of other observant Cantabrians also spotted the orange ribbon standing out brightly in the dusk. "I got the camera and took a photo. It was moving extremely slowly, so I thought it might have been a plane for a minute. The front looked like a fireball. I didn´t hear any noise. It looks like it might have been extremely high up, given the speed it was moving," he said. Police southern communications shift supervisor Trevor Cross said he received one phone call about the phenomenon. A policeman at Oxford also saw it and thought it might be a vapour trail. The superintendent of the University of Canterbury´s Mount John Observatory at Tekapo, Alan Gilmore , said his "immediate reaction" was it was a plane. "The slowness would be due to the plane´s movement. I assume from the contrail´s angle that it is a plane heading for Australia," Gilmore said. "The trail doesn´t look at all like a meteor or space-debris trail."<

UFOs in Amerika

"UFO sighting ´no hoax,´ experts say" hieß die Headline im ´Southown Star´ ( http://www.southtownstar.com/neighb... ):

The wing lights of a commercial airliner, flares tied to balloons, mistaken planets and even mass hallucination have been suggested as possible explanations for the sightings of three unidentified red lights that passed over the skies of Tinley Park in a rough V formation on the nights of Aug 21 and Oct 31 in 2004. But Sam Maranto, state director for the Illinois Mutual UFO Network, doesn´t put much credence into those theories. "We´re pretty well convinced that they were not hoaxes," he said. "It was something definitively unusual. We´re not saying they were from outer space, but they certainly were non-conventional."

Maranto, along with UFO author Don Schmitt and Dr. Mark Rodeghier, director of the Center for UFO Studies, talked about the "Tinley Lights" phenomena as well as other local and national UFO cases this weekend in Tinley Park during a nine-hour UFO Symposium. During Maranto´s presentation, he played a video of the 2004 Tinley sighting that was shot by Crestwood resident T.J. Japcon. "It was a perfectly clear night," he said. "The sky was crystal clear; not a cloud in the sky, and people were out in droves having block parties. On weekends, when people are out on nice days, you´re going to have higher incidents of sightings."Maranto fully rejects the theory that the lights were merely road flares tied to balloons. "A 30-minute flare weighs a pound," he said. "Do you know how many balloons you´d need to take that thing off? Quite a bit - 32 regular balloons. Also, a flare burns at 3,000 degrees. What kind of moron would put an incendiary device in the sky? We would have found evidence of it. You would have been able to see smoke, but you don´t see any in the footage," he added.

Most witnesses claim the three lights moved silently across the night sky in a V formation before suddenly winking out of sight, said Maranto. "This very well may be one craft," he said. "Very large, triangular, V-shaped craft, many miles long, have been reported. We´re talking miles long. The interesting thing about (the Tinley Lights) is that they never break that configuration. They maintain that signature, at least that´s what we´ve seen in the footage we´ve reviewed." Participant Guy Richards, of Rockford, Ill., said many people who report seeing UFOs are regular people who have nothing to gain by going public. "In the 30,000 documented observations of things in the sky, most people (who report them) are not foolish or trying to con you," he said. "They´re ordinary people who have seen something, and they´d like to have somebody tell them it´s OK or explain it to them. They´re just looking for some closure."

Many symposium attendees, like one man who wished to remain anonymous, said the information discussed during the event was, at the very least, something to consider. "It´s different, that´s for sure," he said. "I´m not sure what to make of all this. Most of that footage, I´ve never seen before." Maranto said the Tinley Park case, which also included a sighting in 2005, will eventually become legendary in the UFO community. "It takes a long time to compile all this stuff, but by the time we get done, the Tinley Park case will be one of the best documented mass sighting cases of all time, thanks to people in the community," he said.<

Und an die Miniatur-Heißluftballone denkt mal wieder keiner, obwohl es so nahe liegt - dies ist auch wieder einmal ein Erkenntnisgewinn, und zwar über die Inkompetenz von manchem UFO-Investigator (was wiederum ein Kernproblem der UFO-Forschung darstellt). Und dann aber ´perfekt´ das Paranormale und Überirdische erforschen wollen... Soso.
